About the Artist

Deborah Ann Klenzman started drawing and photographing animals when she was just 7 years old. Growing up on a farm in the Midwestern United States, she had many dogs, cats, birds and bunnies to choose for subjects.

She began her career in 1986 as a commercial photographer. After receiving a BS in advertising with a minor in art, Deb has worked as a graphic artist for over 20 years. She has also worked in the television industry for over 15 years.

Deborah's award-winning photography and illustrations have been seen on TV, in national clothing stores, in books, newspapers, and magazines. After taking a course in "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron, Deb was inspired to officially start Progressive Portraits in 2003.

Now living in Northern California, Deborah, age 44, is single and cares for her two cats, Vincent Van Gogh and Georgia O'Keefe. She enjoys hiking, biking, swimming, kayaking, and many other outdoor activities. Volunteering is an important part of life for organizations such as Bayside Church, Loaves and Fishes, Fluff Buddies, and Happy Tails Pet Sanctuary.
